for Cultural Dance Competition

FOR CULTURAL DANCE COMPETITION

“SAYAW NG PUSO NG KALAYAAN”

1. Amateur cultural dancers from different schools and/or Barangays of South Luzon and nearby Metro Manila areas may join the competition.

2. Registration is up to June 25, 2010 until 5pm only. Interested parties may register at Festival Supermall’s Customer Service at the 2nd Level or you may fax the entry form at 850-3516 and confirm your registration at 850-3517 loc. 269 and look for Mr. Richard A. Macatangay of Marketing Department.

3. Requirements for registration are as follows:

o Registered students from high schools, colleges or universities or a group of non-professional cultural dancers from different Barangays of South Luzon and nearby Metro Manila areas.
 
o Each group shall compose of a minimum of 10 to a maximum of 15 members.

o Letter of endorsement addressed to Festival Supermall Marketing Department from the School Head, Principal or Dean (for schools), and Barangay Captain (for barangays) indicating the names, age, and level of the participants (for schools). (Letter of endorsement and entry form must bear the school and/or barangay seal).

4. Competition will start at 2pm on July 3, 2010 at the 2nd Level Carousel Court, Festival Supermall in the presence of a DTI Representative.

5. Judging will be based on the following criteria:

   CREATIVITY and RELEVANCE TO THE THEME   35%

   SYNCHRONIZATION                                              35%

   COSTUME                                                                 20%

   PROJECTION/AUDIENCE IMPACT                       10%

   TOTAL                                                                     100%
       
GUIDELINES:

   1. Only bonafide and currently enrolled students, and/or registered residents of barangay are allowed to participate in the said competition.

   2. A team shall be composed of not less than ten (10) members and not more than fifteen (15) members on the floor.

   3. Maximum time of performance is ten (10) minutes including entrance and exit. In excess of which, half point (.5) shall be deducted from the final score as penalty.

      4. Groups will be allowed to position/rehearse their entrance/exit to familiarize themselves with the procedure on a scheduled time assigned to them.

   5. All groups must submit a group picture and correct names of all their members. The group that is found to have submitted false information shall be disqualified.

   6. Performance routine and costumes should be appropriate for the family audience.

   7. A maximum of seven (7) will compete in the finals. Elimination rounds shall be scheduled in case more than seven (7) groups has registered.

   8. Each group must have a representative to attend to their musical requirement at the technical area before and during the performance.

   9. Background music can be LIVE or in CD format (two CDs are required).

PRIZES:

      Grand champion  -   P20, 000 plus trophy
      1st place winner  - P10, 000 plus trophy
      2nd place winner  - P 5, 000 plus trophy

Plus additional cash prize of Php 5, 000.00 for the school/barangay of the grand champion.
